Time for another edition of “15 Years Apart” as we feature two photos of a tram taken in both 2010 and 2025, and spot the obvious differences!

29th May 2010 and we’re at Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge on what appears to be a damp bank holiday weekend (this being the Saturday). The tram arriving is 120 which is in an advertising livery for East Midlands Trains (both Supertram and the rail operator being run by Stagecoach at the time). This advert had been added to the tram in May 2009 and would remain in place until October 2010, at which point it would receive its popular Sheffield Corporation Tramways livery to mark 50 years since the end of the original tramway. On this date the tram was running on the Blue route with it heading to Halfway.

We move to 2025 now and 120 is now in a special livery promoting inclusivity – as it tells us “Bringing People Together”. This livery has been on the tram since September 2023. On 14th March 2025 the tram is on the Yellow route as it comes to the Park Square Junction with a service to Middlewood. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
