In Pictures: Metrolink 3117 goes to the movies again as 3107 becomes second BRIT tram

Manchester Metrolink 3117 has received another new advertising livery with it receiving vinyls for the new Disney Pixar film, Hoppers. Considering this is only the second film released in cinemas to be advertised with a full wrap in Manchester it may, or may not, be a surprise to find out that the tram is the same one as the last film was advertised on!

This new advert for 3117 is for Hoppers which, as you’d expect from Disney Pixar, is an animated feature and is a science fiction comedy where scientists discover a way to transform human consciousness into robotic animals.

It’s a mainly yellow advert and does see some windows covered in vinyls, although as is normal in Manchester its not a complete covering on all windows.

As mentioned earlier in this article, the last ad for 3117 was for the Wicked For Good film (one of two trams to carry the ad) which was in place between October and December 2025. Other previous ads have been for Manchester College, Cyberpunk 2077, Lifebuoy Soap, Yayoi Kusama Aviva Studio, Marks Electrical, Aperol Spritz and Wednesday. Hoppers is its ninth advert.

And a second new advert has also been spotted on Metrolink with 3107 received a wrap for the forthcoming BRIT Awards. This is an identical advert to that carried on 3076 and appears to have come a few weeks after that was originally added.

3107 has had two adverts before: Raytheon careers (April-June 2023) and Ordinary Skin Care (June-December 2023).
