15 Years Apart: Nottingham Express Transit 205

We have another outing in our “15 Years Apart” series as we feature a tram as it was in 2010, and then again in 2025. And this time we are going back to Nottingham Express Transit.

The 15 years ago image shows Nottingham Express Transit 205 as it departs from Basford with a service which will run into Station Street (which was as far as the network went at this time with phase two still some way from opening). On 11th March 2010 the tram was still in its original fleet livery which featured a dark green skirt, silver band, black window surrounds, another silver band and then white. As we see here there is limited external advertising with only the two sections closest to the camera featuring ads. The Robin Hood line runs the other side of the green fence.

The second photo then shows 205 carrying an all over advert for Sky Broadband. This advert had been stuck onto the tram in March 2025 and had replaced a previous advert for e-on. Its only the second time that the tram has not been in one of the three different versions of the fleet livery the Incentro trams have carried. The date is 12th September 2025 and the location is Basford again, although this time we’re at ground level on the platform as the tram arrives with a Hucknall to Toton Lane service.
