In Pictures: Busy day at Ingliston on Edinburgh Trams

As is so often the case when there are big events at Murrayfield Stadium, Saturday 20th July 2024 was a busy day for the Edinburgh Trams system. This time it was down to a big pre-season friendly football match between Glasgow Rangers and Manchester United and as always the best way for the thousands of fans heading that way to get there was on the trams. These photos come from Ingliston Park and Ride where many parked their cars before catching the tram. Roy Calderwood is the photographer.

Passengers pile on to 258 at Ingliston with a service which is running to Newhaven. Most of those getting on will alight at Murrayfield Stadium stop.

271 (advert for Mappin & Webb) approaches Ingliston bound for Murrayfield, the city centre and finally Newhaven. As is the case with big events the Edinburgh Trams mobile ticket office is seen top left to sell passengers tickets to take pressure off the usual ticket machines.

273 is then seen departing from Ingliston bound for Newhaven. The tram has just picked up more fans heading to Murrayfield. The tram is seen carrying an advert for Uni Qlo. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 20th July 2024)
