Have you ever wondered how the Stourbridge Shuttle works? Now being billed as the only Very Light Rail (VLR) system in the UK, operators of the shuttle service (which links Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town) Pre Metro are trying to answer that very question with the release of a new video.
The video explores how the rolling stock works (two Parry People Mover vehicles are used) and also looks to show how similar projects can revolutionise public transport in other regions.
Its aimed to appeal to both young enthusiasts and industry professionals. It takes viewers on a journey through the operations of the Stourbridge Shuttle, understanding its impact on local communities and its potential as a sustainable transport solution.
Charlie Merrell, of Pre Metro, said: “We believe that the success of the Stourbridge Shuttle can inspire and inform future transportation projects. Our video aims to engage a wide audience, from curious individuals to industry experts, in a conversation about the future of rail travel.”
The video can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrI7w14-p7o and a second video is set to be released soon!
