New advertiser for Flexity 006

Flexity 006 has become the latest member of the core Blackpool fleet to receive a new advertising contract. During early September, the tram’s adverts for the Pleasure Beach Ice Arena – which it had carried for the last two years – were replaced by a new design for Tunnocks’ caramel wafer biscuits.

The new adverts on 006 have been applied in the now familiar style along the roof sides and also on the lower body panels of its central section. The use of a white backdrop means that the lower panel adverts blend in well with the fleet livery, although the design used is quite attractive and still appears effective. This latest livery change means that there are now only three Flexity trams carrying advertising for the Pleasure Beach, weakening this attraction’s domination of the advertisements worn by the modern tram fleet. Despite expectations that the all-over advert on car 016 would pave the way for further designs, it has remained unique throughout the summer – probably to the relief of the many passengers who have criticised the extensive use of contravision vinyls applied over the saloon windows of this particular tram.
