“Around the World in Trams” again comes from Rome today.
Today’s image features 9013 and according to its destination display it isn’t in service when captured on camera. 9013 is one of the 1990 built SOCIMI T8000 trams, these are double-ended low-floor trams (70% of the interior is low-floor). Originally 60 were ordered but SOCIMI went bankrupt during construction and so only 33 were built, although another eight were later built (2003-4) using parts which were taken from the closed SOCIMI works in Milan.
9013 is still in service today.
