Picture in Time: Crich Tram Depots

“Picture in Time” comes from Crich for one last time before things change again and this time we take a look inside the depots.

This is another undated image but shows a number of trams at the front of the depot, and all of them are currently non-runners at the museum. Just visible on the left (partially hidden) is Prague 180 and then alongside that is Glasgow 1282, then Blackpool & Fleetwood 2 and finally just back from the front is Glasgow 1297.

Of these trams the Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad “Rack” car (no. 2) is the one which last operated with passengers at the museum with it being temporarily returned to action during 2018. Glasgow 1282 last ran in 2012, 1297 in 2007 and you have to go back to 2001 for the last time that you could have enjoyed a ride on Prague 180. There are currently no known plans for any to return to action with the two Glasgow cars now in the Great Exhibition Hall.

  1. Frank Bagshaw says:

There is a current live STTS fund accumulating monies for the eventual restoration of Glasgow 1282 at Crich.
