In Pictures: Metrolink 3013 returns to service

The latest Manchester Metrolink tram to return to passenger service after spending time out following accident damage is 3013. The tram is believed to have returned to service on Friday 11th July 2025, after almost three months out of action.

3013 had been hit by a car on Droylsden Road on the Ashton-under-Lyne route back on Friday 14th March 2025. It suffered fairly significant damage and that night it was not possible for it to be returned to depot and so it spent the night at Ashton-under-Lyne terminus after being moved there by Metrolink engineers. It was subsequently moved after the end of service to the depot for assessment.

Repairs were completed during early July and after testing the tram was cleared for service again with Bee Network customer service staff stating on X that it was back out on Friday 11th July 2025, just three days shy of three months out.

3013 is seen at Cornbrook in this view as it heads to The Trafford Centre.

On board the tram and it even has an advert which tells us all it’s a bigger return! Obviously that is not what the advert is actually for as its promoting season tickets. Although how old is the advert? Its advising you to go to a GMPTE Travelshop and with contactless payments now the thing this is hardly a current promotion!
