As we reported at the end of May, a number of trams in Edinburgh have received new full wrap adverts for Emirates. At the time of writing six trams – 255, 257, 258, 268, 272 and 273 – have received identical wraps and its expected that more will be on the way with a new tram currently being wrapped on most days. In this article we take a closer look at the new advert on some of the trams.

257 arrives at Princes Street running a service to the Airport, and probably more importantly for a lot of passengers Murrayfield where Robbie Williams would be performing that evening. 257 is in its new Emirates advertising livery.

As 257 stands at St Andrew Square we take a closer look at some of the detail of the advert. This image shows one of the contravision sections which includes the interior of one of Emirates planes – it looks like a pleasant quiet flight for this passenger!

A view down the side of 257 showing more of the advert detail as we’re told to “FLY BETTER WITH EMIRATES”. Also note the Tap-on, Tap-off sticker on the doors.

Another of the trams to have received the advert is 258 – which had previously been advertising the Rio Brazilian Steakhouse. Whereas earlier we saw trams in the sun the weather has now deteriorated somewhat in this view at Haymarket.

272 in its Emirates advert as it calls at West End with a service heading to the Airport. A roving Edinburgh Trams staff member is on the platform to help would-be passengers.

A fourth of the Emirates trams is seen in this photo as it arrives at Haymarket with a short working to St Andrew Square. With Robbie Williams performing at Murrayfield Stadium extra trams were out with some of them turning short at St Andrew Square and then running onto York Place to use the crossover there before returning towards the Airport – and probably more importantly for most people travelling Murrayfield.
