In Pictures: Trams take a backward seat at Buses at Beamish event

The chances are that if you’ve ever visited Beamish (outside the pandemic and all the restrictions that brought of course) that a major part of your trip has been the trams. Whether interested in trams or not they have been there to transport you around the vast museum site but over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July it was their chance to take a bit of a rest as it was the Buses at Beamish event with many visiting buses offering rides and on Saturday 16th just the one tram in service – Blackpool 31.

One of the highlights of the event was the visit of ex-Carris Lisbon AEC Regent III/Weymann 255 GB-21-07 (British registration KSV102) – meaning that there were two vehicles from Portugal at the museum. To give some unique photos Oporto 196 was displayed in front of the tram depot and the chance was taken to pose the two escapees from Portugal together for some unique photos.
