More Heritage Tram events for Blackpool’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations

We’ve known for a while that there would be a Tram Parade in Blackpool to help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and now its been confirmed that there will be more Blackpool Heritage Tram Tour events – including regular heritage tours between Pleasure Beach and Bispham on the afternoon of Thursday 2nd June, yes the return to normal tours albeit just for three hours!

A number of the events which are now being mentioned are part of the regular offering from Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours and have been in the calendar for a while but some have also been added into the mix, with various tours taking place from Wednesday 1st until Sunday 5th June.

Wednesday 1st June

  • Afternoon Tea Tour – departing North Pier at 1100 the tour takes you to Little Bispham and then back south to Pleasure Beach and then North Pier again. Its then off to the Blackpool Tower for afternoon tea.
  • Coastal Tour – 1040 departure running North Pier-Fleetwood (break)-North Pier. A double decker is booked for the trip.
  • Promenade Tours – 1410 and 1540 departures running North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier. Double decker is booked for these trips.

Thursday 2nd June

  • Tram Parade – featuring around 12 trams running from Pleasure Beach to Little Bispham and back, the parade departs at 1430 and will pause at the Tower Headland for unique photo opportunities.
  • Coastal Tour – 1010 departure running North Pier-Fleetwood (break)-North Pier. Booked for a double decker.
  • Promenade Tour – 1040 departure running North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier. Vintage double decker is booked for these trips (Bolton 66)
  • Jubilee special Promenade Tours – from 1600 to 1900 only you can hop on frequent Promenade Tours anywhere between Pleasure Beach and Bispham, departing at whichever heritage stop you want! They will run approximately every 15 minutes with prices set as £5 for an adult and £2.50 for a child per tour.
  • Evening Tours – There will be two tours using the Western Train running at 1900 and 2015 from North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier.

Friday 3rd June

  • Promenade Tours – running at 1110 (vintage double decker), 1240 (vintage double decker), 1410 (Boat Car), 1540 (Boat Car). North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier.
  • Coastal Tours – running at 1040 and 1510 with a double decker booked to operate the tour from North Pier to Fleetwood and back to North Pier.
  • Fish & Chips Tour – Boarding at North Pier 1845 for a tour running North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier with fish and chips on board!

Saturday 4th June

  • Promenade Tours – running at 1110 (vintage double decker), 1240 (vintage double decker), 1410 (Boat Car), 1540 (Boat Car). North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier.
  • Coastal Tours – running at 1040 and 1510 with a double decker booked to operate the tour from North Pier to Fleetwood and back to North Pier.
  • Guided Depot Tour – At 1030 (sold out) and 1245
  • Real Ale Tour – Departs North Pier for Little Bispham at 1500 before returning south to Pleasure Beach and back to North Pier with the chance to sample two ales on board.
  • Evening Tour – Using a double decker and departing North Pier at 1900 the tour runs to Little Bispham, back to Pleasure Beach and then terminating at North Pier.

Sunday 5th June

  • Promenade Tours – running at 1110 (vintage double decker), 1240 (vintage double decker), 1410 (Boat Car), 1540 (Boat Car). North Pier-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier.
  • Coastal Tours – running at 1040 and 1510 with a double decker booked to operate the tour from North Pier to Fleetwood and back to North Pier.

    Bit of a poor effort tours wise for a busy bank holiday! This should have been one of the intensive weekends rather than the depths of winter!!
