More overhead woes on the West Midlands Metro

And repeat! Yes, its another article with overhead problems on the West Midlands Metro – and this time it has led to a complete suspension of the service all the way from Library to Wolverhampton St George’s. Services started to be disrupted from shortly after 1600 on Thursday 22nd July.

The disruption was first reported as being between Library and Black Lake but this was soon extended to a complete service suspension on the entire line. Its not known whereabouts this latest damage is or why it has been necessary to suspend the complete service, unless there is more than one location. But with it happening at the start of the afternoon rush hour the timing couldn’t have been much worse.

The usual ticket acceptance was put in place with passengers advised to use either West Midlands Railway or Avanti West Coast train services on National Express bus services instead. At least regular passengers won’t have to check the maps on the West Midlands Metro website of where the bus stops are we guess.

This is the third piece of overhead damage that the Metro has seen in less than a week with disruption on 17th/18th July and again on 19th July with repairs to this second set of damage having only being completed for services to run from the start of Tuesday 20th July.

Will there ever be an end to the disruption?
