In Pictures: More Train-Tram construction work progress

2017 was the year that it was hoped that the tram-train pilot between Sheffield and Rotherham would have been up and running but delays in the project have meant that hasn’t been possible. With 2018 now set as the completion for the service to start work is continuing to bring the project to fruition.

Recently good progress has been made at Rotherham Central with both platforms whilst overhead is now installed all the way from Rotherham Parkgate to Tinsley Chord.

This is the Sheffield bound platform at Rotherham Central where work is now almost finished.

Good progress is also being made on the other platform here.

Overhead has now been strung at Parkgate.

Another view of the overhead wires at Parkgate. The overhead is now in place from here through to Tinsley Chord. (All Photographs by Glyn Hill)
