Variobahn 2562 enters service on Tramlink

Two of the second batch of Stadler Variobahn’s are now in service on London Tramlink following the release into the operating fleet of 2562 which has been in Croydon since 11th October. 2562 was first used in service on Thursday 3rd December and has since been in use on a regular basis alongside sister 2560. The other two members of this batch – 2561 and 2563 – are still to enter service.

  1. Tony Sullivan says:

Of the four latest Stadler Variobahn trams a three hour visit to Croydon today saw No 2560 working route 4 from Therapia Lane to Elmers End and return. No 2561 on test both ways through the city centre and No 2562 on route 1 duty from West Croydon to Elmers End. I did not see No 2563 – but as I didn’t go past the depot at Therapia Lane this was not surprising.
