2024 a record breaking year for East Anglia Transport Museum

Not only did the East Anglia Transport Museum have cause to celebrate after walking away with three awards at the British Trams Online Tram of the Year 2024 contest but even more importantly they were also able to look back at a year which turned out to be a record-breaking one for the museum located in Carlton Colville, Suffolk.

Van and tram collide on NET

A white van and Nottingham Express Transit 225 were involved in a collision close to University Boulevard tramstop on Tuesday 7th January just before 1830. Nottinghamshire Police have launched an investigation into the accident to ascertain what happened.

Coventry Very Light Rail trial to run in 2025

The first Coventry Very Light Rail vehicle looks set to operate in the city centre this year with plans to construct a 220 metre track along Greyfriars Road and Queen Victoria Road due to be approved by the Council’s Cabinet.

Supertram disruption continues

As we reported last night, there are currently no trams operating beyond Cathedral to either Malin Bridge and Middlewood following the identification of a track fault at West Street. It has now been confirmed that this disruption is likely to continue all weekend with the plan being normal services will be able to resume from the start of services on Monday 13th January 2025.

In Pictures: Car causes delays for West Midlands Metro

West Midlands Metro services along Bilston Road in Wolverhampton were hit by delays on Sunday 29th December after a badly parked car blocked the tracks adjacent to the retail park. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of both tramway staff and the Police it was not possible to move the car out the way and so a recovery vehicle was called to move the errant vehicle from blocking the tramway.

Nottingham Express Transit Engineering Works: Sunday 26th January 2025

No trams will run between Wilkinson Street and The Forest on Sunday 26th January 2025 to allow for essential repair works to take place. Nottingham Express Transit will be operating replacement buses between the two stops to ensure people are able to continue with their journeys.

National Tramway Museum make two new appointments

The National Tramway Museum, based at the Crich Tramway Village, have announced two significant appointments with a Chief Executive Officer and the new role of Volunteer Coordinator and Mentor now confirmed. Graham Bennett is the new Chief Executive Officer whilst Victoria Dickerson takes on the Volunteer Coordinator and Mentor role.
