Gateshead Primary School unveil Metro inspired mural

Children at a Primary School in Gateshead have recently completed a mural which is inspired by the Tyne and Wear Metro. Pupils from St Alban’s Catholic Primary School at Pelaw worked alongside a local artist to design the mural which can now be seen on a wall at the front of their school building on Rothbury Avenue.

This is the latest guidance released by the organisation who aim to improve the safety of light rail systems across the country.

Metro performance edges up again

Luas launch new “We love it when you…” campaign

Dublin’s extensive Luas network has continued to show its popularity and importance as part of the transport network in the Irish capital city but like many other transport networks around the world that has come with the risk of anti-social behaviour. The network has now launched a new “We love it when you” campaign which asks people to be considerate of others when travelling on the trams.

West Midlands Metro Urbos3s back at Dudley for repairs

In mid-January 2025 we reported that two West Midlands Metro trams had departed from Wednesbury Depot and as all recent moves had been to Worksop we made an assumption that’s where 34 and 36 had ended up (especially as they had both been there before). But that was a wrong assumption as the two trams have actually gone to the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre in Dudley where they seem to be undergoing repairs.

In Pictures: Six Nations Saturday in Edinburgh

The Six Nations Championship is back and once again Murrayfield Stadium will be the home venue for Scotland home matches – this year hosting three games against Italy, Ireland and Wales. The first of these matches took place on Saturday 1st February 2025 and as ever that sees Edinburgh Trams run more regular services to get the sell out crowds to the venue, which conveniently has its very own tramstop.
