Services on the London Trams network were disrupted on Tuesday 26th August after a car and tram collided close to Merton Park tramstop. The collision happened just after 1530 and led to four people having to be taken to hospital.
The collision happened at the junction between the tramway and Kingston Road just before the tramstop at Merton Park when coming from the direction of Wimbledon. It involved a CR4000 and a black car.
The London Ambulance Service attended the scene with the first paramedic on scene around five minutes after they received the call. The four injured people received treatment at the scene before three were taken to a local hospital whilst one went to a major trauma centre for further treatment. Its not known whether the injured were in the car or on-board the tram.
