In Pictures: Victoria transformation works

In less than two weeks time Manchester Metrolink services will once again stop at Victoria following 12 months of transformation works to prepare the stop for the Second City Crossing (2CC). As the countdown continues to the re-opening we bring you a photo update showing the latest state of play with the construction works both within the station complex and also on the approach from the city. I had a look last Thursday, seems like there is still alot to do if they are to open on the 18th?

I’ve been through Victoria on the tram today and thought the same thing. The amount of trackwork that there is still to do between the new stop and Shudehill doesn’t look achievable, but After the closure thiscoming weekend the line between Victoria and Shudehill doesn’t open until Saturday the 21st, trams from Bury and Rochdale terminate at Victoria between 18th and 21st so that is an extra 3 days to finish the work. The junction at the city end looks a bit complex.
