End of year figures show continued recovery for NET after last year’s financial restructuring

Nottingham Express Transit continues to show signs of a financial recovery according to the latest end of year figures recently released. There are both increased customer journeys whilst reduced losses have also been recorded indicating ongoing improvements and stability across the network.

North Lanarkshire Council look for a Tram & Historic Vehicles Technician

For many years the only operational tramway in Scotland could be found at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, but this short heritage line has been out of action since September 2022 after an electrical fault was suffered at the museum. This has since been fixed but the trams have still remained stationary as North Lanarkshire Council – who own the museum – have been looking to fill a vacancy on the technical side. Hopefully, this will soon be filled though as they have recently posted a vacancy for a Tram and Historic Vehicles Technician.

ORR “not involved” in Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours suspension

The saga of the suspension of all Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours operation has taken another turn, with “The Blackpool Lead” quoting a spokesperson from the ORR as saying they were not involved in the decision whilst also claiming that two sources have told them the decision was made for financial reasons.

The latest Tyne and Wear Metro performance poster gives some reason for cheer – if its to be believed! – as it suggests that the number of trains running on time has increased, although its still only 3 in every 4 trains that is considered to be on time.
