Another edition of “15 Years Apart” and this time we head to the Crich Tramway Village.

The tram we feature this time is probably the one which has changed the least whilst staying at the same location in this year’s series. London Passenger Transport Board 1622 is seen in this first photo by the depot entrance at Crich on 24th May 2009. It’s a warm and sunny day at the museum on what was Enthusiasts Day and the tram is in the normal London Transport fleet livery as it goes north.

Its now 13th September 2024 and 1622 remains in service at Crich (although hasn’t been for all of those intervening years) as we again see it heading north, this time a bit further up the line by Victoria Park. The one big change for the tram is that is now has external adverts with this side telling us that Guinness is good for you. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
