15 Years Apart: South Yorkshire Supertram 118

The final article on British Trams Online for 2024 is another edition of “15 Years Apart”.

We return once more to Sheffield and Supertram for this pair of images and the first one was taken on 4th June 2009 and is at Sheffield Station/Sheffield Hallam University. At the time the tram was in the final version of the Stagecoach fleet livery and would remain like this for almost another nine years before it got its first advert. That was for Pretty Little Thing and remained in place (albeit with one revision) all the way until October 2024. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)

October 2024 saw 118 receive a new advertising contract with e-on taking out their first wrap in Sheffield. In a slightly different style to the e-on adverts in Nottingham there is still no doubt what the tram is advertising with the e-on logo plastered all over it! The tram is at Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge on 5th November 2024 in this photo. (Photograph by Steven Hughes)
