A photo from the archives of a tram which has been in the news during 2021 is this week’s “Picture of the Week”. We see Blackpool Balloon 710 here having just departed from Gynn Square on 6th September 2005 when running back to depot having been in use on specials. The tram was in one of the Metro Coastlines liveries which were prevalent on the Blackpool Tramway at this time. Its a livery the tram still carries to this day and it is currently at Wyre Dock in Fleetwood in storage. Its long-term future remains unknown with its owners, the Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust, disbanding and looking for new homes for its collection. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)
