Nottingham now has its very own edition of Monopoly and to mark the occasion Mr Monopoly visited the city and took a ride on a tram!
As with traditional Monopoly boards, the Nottingham board includes four railway stations spots and two of those are Nottingham Express Transit (with Nottingham being a little thing on the ground for different railway stations we presume!).
Mr Monopoly was keen to get out and about in Nottingham after the official launch of the board game and took a ride on the tram between Royal Centre and Old Market Square – and had to use real money and not monopoly money you’ll be pleased to know, so no penalty fares for him!
Alison Sweeney, Head of Marketing at NET, said: “This is such an exciting day for the city, and we’re so pleased that Mr Monopoly was able to take time out of his busy schedule to explore all that Nottingham has to offer, using the tram. As a network that has been an integral part of the city for more than 20 years, we’re pleased to be part of this board which is more than just a game, and is a celebration of everything that makes Nottingham a fantastic place to live.”
