In Pictures: A few shots in Blackpool around North Pier

In this article we head to North Pier to see a few images of trams in service on a standard late July day, just a few days before the timetable tweaks were introduced. Steven Hughes is the photographer.

001 received this partial advertising livery for Blackpool Zoo back in June 2025, replacing its long-expired (and previously covered with other ads!) advertising for the Sands Venue. A two-sided advert this is the side which has a cute baby orangutan to melt the heart strings. The tram is off to Starr Gate.

016 is taking the route through Talbot Square with a service to North Station when its captured in this shot. The yellow based advert is for Coral Island and has been on the tram since March 2024.

The rear of 008 is seen in this photo as it has just come off of the North Station extension as it just arrives at North Pier tramstop with a northbound service to Fleetwood Ferry.

The No. 1 bus is now known as the Resort Rider as seen here as it passengers alight and others wait to get on at North Pier. On the tramway is 017 going south, (All Photographs by Steven Hughes, 22nd July 2025)
