Around the World in Trams: Postlingbergbahn I

We are off to Linz again for this “Around the World in Trams” as we feature one of the historic trams which used to run on the Postlingbergbahn mountain line.

This photo was taken in the Pöstlingbergbahn Museum and shows I which was built for the then metre gauge line in 1898. Withdrawn when the line was upgraded and regauged it is now displayed in the museum to show how things used to be for the line up the mountain. This museum is located in the former terminus of the line before it was able to be extended further into the city centre and regauging.

In this second image we take a look inside the tram with its traditional wooden seating.

Both Photographs by John Moore
