Crossover installed outside Clayton Hotel in another milestone for Birmingham Eastside extension

Thursday 20th March was another day where a significant milestone towards the opening of the West Midlands Metro Birmingham Eastside extension was reached with the installation of the switch and crossing infrastructure for its temporary terminus outside the Clayton Hotel.

Overhead line damage leads to West Midlands Metro disruption

West Midlands Metro services have only been able to run between West Bromwich Central and Edgbaston Village on Monday 7th April following overhead line damage close to the depot at Wednesbury.

West Midlands Metro fares to increase below inflation again in 2025

It has been announced that the price of travelling on the West Midlands Metro will increase from 7th April 2025. The increase will be an average of 3.2%, with fares set to go up by between 10p and 30p.
