West Midlands Metro win awards at local event

West Midlands Metro are celebrating after winning three awards at the Dudley College and Black Country Skills Shop Adult Awards. This ceremony celebrates the hard work, growth, and commitment of adult learners and local professionals and this year West Midlands Metro one an accolade whilst two of their employees were also recognised.

Metro was named Outstanding Employer of the Year whilst two Driver Customer Service Representatives – Becky Holmes for Resilience Award and Myriam Fiamavle for the Learning to Earning Award – were also recognised at the ceremony.

Claire Scrimshawe, Head of Human Resources at West Midlands Metro, said: “After facing stiff competition from some of the region’s best-known employers, we’re delighted to be recognised for our efforts to support colleagues on their learning journey and helping them to launch rewarding careers on the Metro.

“Congratulations also go to Becky and Myriam, they are a credit to our organisation, the HR and Learning and Development teams are doing an amazing job in delivering courses and programmes that change people’s lives.

“The Employer Award has already helped dozens of people back into work while strengthening our dedicated and diverse team. We’re especially proud to receive this recognition in Dudley, as we prepare to expand the existing network into the area. It’s a great way to begin building connections in the local community.”
