Picture in Time: Blackpool OMO 3

More snowy photography in Blackpool during 1979 for this “Picture in Time”.

It’s the same tram as we saw last week, but this time we’re on the edge of Fleetwood Town Centre at what was then Ash Street (now known as Fisherman’s Walk of course). At least two passengers have alighted  from OMO 3 here and they watch their footing as they trudge off into the snow. Across the tracks a lone passenger waits in the shelter for a southbound car, with the tram stop signs and the “EXIT ONLY” board on the shelter recalling a style of tramway signage now long consigned to history.

Looking southwards and the tracks along the tramroad are still blanketed in relatively fresh snow, but although the tram still has a few stops to make before it terminates at the Ferry, the driver has already changed the destination blind for the return journey.
