It’s Thursday evening which means it is once again time for us to round-up just when and where you can enjoy a ride on a heritage tram in the UK. The main highlight over the next seven days is the return of the horse trams to Douglas from Monday 11th May – a season we didn’t expect to see…
Beamish: The Living Museum of the North
Current Status: Open daily from 1000 to 1700.

Birkenhead Heritage Tramway
Current Status: Operates every Saturday and Sunday between 1300 and 1700. Also operates on Spring and August bank holidays and Wednesdays-Fridays during school holidays.
Timetable in operation: Trams depart Taylor Street every half hour between 1250 and 1620 returning from Woodside between 1305 and 1635 using 1 tram.

Blackpool Tramway
Current Status: Operates all weekends until Sunday 9th November plus school holidays and Bank Holidays.
Timetable in operation:
Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th, Saturday 16th, Sunday 17th, Tuesday 26th May to Sunday 31st May, Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June – Blue timetable (2 trams in service running between Pleasure Beach and North Pier up to every 20 minutes from 1000-1700)
Saturday 23rd May – Green timetable (4 trams in service running between Pleasure Beach and Little Bispham every 20 minutes from 1000-1800)
Sunday 24th & Monday 25th May – Gold timetable (6+ trams in service running between Pleasure Beach and Little Bispham with additional limited stop tours to Fleetwood)

Douglas Horse Tramway
Current Status: Resumes operation Monday 11th May and then daily until Sunday 13th September
Timetable in operation: First tram departs Strathallan at 0900 and then every 20 minutes until 1720. Return journeys commence from the Sea Terminal at 0920 and then every 20 minutes until 1740.

East Anglia Transport Museum
Current Status: Open Sundays and Wednesdays plus selected school holidays.
Open: Sundays and Wednesdays until Sunday 24th May. Then daily until Thursday 28th May. From Sunday 31st May open every Sunday, Wednesday & Saturday until summer school holidays. Also open Saturday 16th May. Opening hours 1200 until 1630.
Next Special Event: Mid-May 40’s Weekend – Saturday 16th (1200-2100) & Sunday 17th May (1030-1630)

Current Status: Daily operation.

Tuesday 5th May to Friday 22nd May – Timetable B (6 departures each way between Derby Castle and Ramsey plus 1 each way between Laxey and Derby Castle)
Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st May – Timetable D (14 departures from Derby Castle each day between 0840 and 1640, 5 of which only run as far as Laxey – same southbound journey pattern)
Monday 1st to Friday 12th June – Timetable FH (21 departures from Derby Castle each day between 0840 and 2140, 3 of which only run as far as Laxey – same southbound journey platform)

Summerlee – The Museum of Scottish Industrial Life
Current Status: Open daily between 1000 and 1700.
Opening hours: 1000-1700. One tram is usually in service each day.
