Originally billed as an “Event Weekend” this has now been changed to an “Enhanced Weekend” (although there isn’t much difference between the two except for more themed events which still take place on an Enhanced Weekend anyway) and will see five heritage trams in service on each day on the revised hop-on, hop-off timetable.

In Pictures: Broken down tram causes NET disruption

Services on Nottingham Express Transit suffered disruption on Friday 19th May after Incentro 203 failed just as it was about to ascend the ramp on the approach to Nottingham Station from Meadows Way. The failure led to no trams being able to run between Nottingham Station and Queen’s Walk and NG2 and also saw the fairly unusual sight of two trams coupled together as the errant vehicle was towed back to depot for attention.

In Pictures: Timetable testing in Edinburgh? Overhead problems stop it in its tracks on first day

Timing is everything in life and Thursday 18th May 2023 probably wasn’t the day (if there ever was a day) you would want the Edinburgh Trams network to be brought to a halt as it had been due to be the first day of timetable testing on the Trams to Newhaven extension but that is exactly what happened. We had reported last night that the testing was scheduled to get underway yesterday but that’s before we knew that overhead problems meant it was a bit of a false start.
