Around the World in Trams: Brisbane 236

It’s the last photo of our brief look at the Ferrymead Tramway in Christchurch for this edition of “Around the World in Trams”.

The Ferrymead Tramway doesn’t only operate trams from Christchurch with this particular vehicle currently operational on the line on a lease from the Wellington Tramway Museum. Brisbane 236 is a 1925 built Dropcentre car which was withdrawn from service in 1969 and moved to New Zealand. Restored in 1986 it moved to Christchurch for operation in 1993.

In this photo we see it at Ferrymead Heritage Park.
