In Pictures: Seaton Tramway repairs

We have reported a lot this year on the repairs undertaken on the Seaton Tramway following the devastating damage caused by the Valentines night storms but haven’t seen the repairs but now thanks to Keith Chadbourne we are able to show you photos of the work undertaken. These photos show the work around Axmouth loop with new ballast in evidence. Rocks in wire cages were put in place either side of the trackbed and the space was filled in with stone and then the ballast and track were out on top of that.

Looking south before Axmouth loop.

I was on this just a few days ago, what a brilliant little tramway. BBC News were filming a report when I was there, I presume it will be on local TV sometime soon.

It was actually on ‘The One Show’ a few days ago – unfortunately I heard about it too late to post about it on here! I think it may still be available to watch on the BBC I-player, although if anyone is interested please note that Seaton only featured very briefly!

Will be visiting this coming week, and looking forward to it
