In Pictures: 3117 receives a new wrap for Wednesday

It’s the season of change on Manchester Metrolink with adverts here one day and gone the next as we see in this latest advert update. We take a look at 3094, 3100 and 3117 in this article, the highest numbered of which has changed wraps whilst the others have returned to fleet livery after its own vinyls were stripped.

3117 had been advertising Aperol Spritz with those vinyls have been added in June 2025. That was a bright and colourful advert featuring a bright orange but now the tram has gone far more subdued as its received a black based advert for the Netflix series, Wednesday.

Wednesday is a popular supernatural mystery comedy series which is now into its second season. Its based on The Addams Family characters with Wednesday Addams being the main character. The advert is mainly black and is promoting the release of the latest series on Netflix in September.

3117 is now onto its seventh advert. Previous ads have been for Manchester College, Cyberpunk 2077, Lifebuoy Soap, Yayoi Kusama Aviva Studio, Marks Electrical, and Aperol Spritz.

3117 isn’t the only tram which has lost an advert applied in June, as 3094 is also in the same group. Previously advertising Red Bull (just its second ad after one for Olivia Burton in 2019) those vinyls have now been taken off to return it to fleet livery again.

A third tram has also lost its June 2025 applied advert with 3100 returning to fleet livery. This tram had been carrying adverts for The Hundred cricket tournament, which despite only being its first week of a month doesn’t seem the need to be advertising on the trams anymore! This was 3100’s second advert having previously carried vinyls for Vodafone from June 2018 to December 2019.
