Colas Rail UK have had a long-term relationship with the Midland Metro Alliance as their principal contractor and they have now been awarded further contracts to help the continued expansion of the West Midlands Metro network.
The awarded schemes are:
- Birmingham Eastside Phase 2
- Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Phase 2 (although Phase 2 will not be reaching Brierley Hill with that being part of a potential, and currently unfunded, phase 3)
- Wednesbury Depot stabling capacity increase, internal modifications to the Operational Maintenance Control building and a new Control Room
The work will see a commitment for Colas Rail UK until 2028 and builds on the work the company have already undertaken on behalf of the Midland Metro Alliance and other construction partners.
