The second half of August will see further improvement works on the South Yorkshire Supertram network as they move across the city to Middlewood Road with Yellow route services being diverted to run to Malin Bridge between Sunday 17th and Friday 29th August 2025.
Works are currently taking place on the Blue route around Hollinsend and Park Grange and when these come to an end on Friday 15th August, the contractors will head over to the other side of the city and it’s the turn of the Yellow route to see disruption.
During this 13-day period the focus of work will be rail replacement on Middlewood Road. The chance will also be taken to complete work on replacing the clear plastic panels in poster cases at many tram stops, with the aim of making it easier to view printed information
From 17th to 29th August the following service changes will be in place:
- YELLOW route will run Meadowhall to Malin Bridge
- Replacement bus service YE1 will operate from Hillsborough Interchange to Middlewood
- BLUE, PURPLE and TRAM-TRAIN services will operate as per the normal timetable
Would-be passengers are also warned that at times a tram may arrive at Malin Bridge as a BLUE route service but then depart as a YELLOW route service, and vice-versa. So, be alert is the warning!
Once the work is completed, normal services should resume from Saturday 30th August 2025.
