Supertram introduce temporary timetable

South Yorkshire Supertram have announced that they will be operating a temporary timetable from Monday 10th March “due to additional ongoing maintenance”. No date has been set for how long this temporary timetable will be in operation.

The revised timetable will see a lower frequency service for both the Blue and Yellow routes with trams only running every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes during peak times which is basically Monday to Saturday daytimes). There is no change to the service early morning or evenings Monday to Saturday and at anytime on Sunday. The Purple and Tram-Train routes will also be unaffected by the change. The published temporary timetables do only include Monday to Friday so its unclear what that means for Saturday 15th March onwards.

This timetable comes after a week in which there have been numerous cancellations with the South Yorkshire Supertram social media accounts putting blame on tram availability. Although not specifically mentioned that this is the reason for the temporary timetable it can only be presumed the two are connected.

Tram availability was possibly not helped by a collision between a bus and tram at Granville Road on Tuesday 4th March 2025. Although only seeing delays for around half an hour this did see 121 hit by the bus which may require further attention.

The temporary timetable can be viewed as follows:

121 was back in service next morning showing no sign of damage.

I was out on a tram on Saturday and 121 was running as normal, looks as if it just had a pennel replaced, as some scratches are around this panel.
