Extra chance to ride the MER this year

Whilst Sunday 3rd November saw the official end of the 2024 operating season on the Manx Electric Railway (as well as other island heritage lines including the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and the Snaefell Mountain Railway) that won’t be the last time you can enjoy a ride on the line as there will be a service between Derby Castle and Laxey for the Laxey Village Christmas Market on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November.

On both days trams will depart from Derby Castle at 0940, 1040, 1110, 1210, 1310, 1410, 1440, 1540 with return journeys back from Laxey at 1025, 1125, 1155, 1325, 1355, 1455, 1525, 1625.

Standard tram fares will apply and once child aged 5-15 will travel free with each full paying adult. And anyone with a valid tram ticket will be able to gain free entry to the Christmas Market.

The Great Laxey Mines Railway will also be in operation offering Santa Train rides.
