Picture in Time: Manchester Metrolink 1010

Its “Picture in Time” time again as we stay on Manchester Metrolink in 1994.

Pictured in this photo is T68 1010 – named “Manchester Champion” – which is passing Manchester Art Gallery on the way to St Peter’s Square and then on to Altrincham. When the photo was taken Mosley Street was tram only as there was resurfacing work; note the temporary change to the blue road sign on the left to show other vehicles couldn’t head that way!

We featured 1010 a few weeks ago in this series but as reminder it is now scrapped having gone to Rotherham to meet its maker on 14th August 2014.
