The cost of travelling on the Supertram network – operated by Stagecoach until next March – will increase from 1st November, which includes the removal of the £2 single fare (which has been funded locally by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority with trams not included in the government’s fare cap which only covered buses across the country).
From 1st November the following fares will be in use:
- Adult single (short journey) – £2.40 (was £2.20)
- Adult return (short journey) – £4.00 (was £3.70)
- Adult single (long journey) – £2.80 (this is a discounted fare, known as the “Mayor’s Fare”, without this discount it would be £3.20 – was £3.00 pre-1st November)
- Adult DayRider – £5.40 (£5 if bought on Stagecoach Bus app) – previously £5.00 on tram and £4.80 on app

This is disgusting! Especially in the cost of living right now. It’s becoming harder and harder to afford travel amongst every other thing. My student pass that enables me to get a child single will be useless! Why can’t they put the price up to £1 or £1.50?
Putting the price from 80p to £2.00 is abismal!
