Forthcoming Metrolink engineering works

After a summer of major works on the Metrolink line to Eccles, improvement works on the network have reduced in recent weeks and over the next couple of months there will only be a couple of occasions when services will be disrupted. This will see work at Cornbrook and on the Bury and Rochdale lines.

Sunday 22nd October – Cornbrook

Works at Cornbrook throughout the day will mean no trams can travel through the area.

Revised services will run:

  • Bury to Ashton-under-Lyne
  • Altrincham to Old Trafford
  • Rochdale Town Centre to Deansgate-Castlefield
  • East Didsbury to Firswood
  • Manchester Airport to Firswood
  • The Trafford Centre to Wharfside

Replacement buses will run:

  • Eccles to Piccadilly
  • Old Trafford to Piccadilly via Wharfside
  • Firswood to Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Firswood to Victoria

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th November – Bury and Rochdale line

No trams will run between Bury and Whitefield and Freehold to Rochdale Town Centre

Replacement buses will run on affected routes.

In addition to these works there are due to be works on the car parks at both Radcliffe and Whitefield. The top deck at Radcliffe will be closed from Monday 16th to Friday 27th October and at Whitefield the top deck will be closed between Monday 23rd October and Tuesday 31st October. In both cases the bottom decks will remain open and people are being directed to the other car park as well.
