This week we head off to the south coast for some photos from the Volk’s Electric Railway:

There are updates this week to the Blackpool Tramway (photo links and last operating dates), Crich Tramway Village (Derby 1 departure), East Anglia Transport Museum (photo links), Edinburgh Trams (new advert and photo links), Long Marston (photo links and livery change), Manchester Metrolink (new adverts and photo links), Stagecoach Supertram (105 returned and photo links), Volks Electric Railway (photo links) and West Midlands Metro (tram departing and photo links) Fleet Lists alongside the Edinburgh Trams (new advert and photo links) and Manchester Metrolink (new adverts and photo links) Advert Lists.

Please note the next weekend main site update of British Trams Online will not be until Sunday 1st October 2023. If you are on Facebook and want to see whats going on around the British Isles hopefully we will have plenty of coverage on there over the next few weeks. There may be a midweek update during this period but no guarantees on that at the moment! As always the News & Features page will continue to be operated throughout this period.

One of the main events during the 140th Anniversary celebrations on the Volk’s Electric Railway was a procession of all the operational cars in the fleet – and one which hasn’t run for several decades but is hopefully on the road to return. That was ex-Southend car 9 which was purchased for use on the line in the 1950s (along with another car) but was sidelined from the 1990s. Being hauled by a small diesel locomotive we see 9 passing assesmbled guests during the Procession. (Photograph by Tony Sullivan)
