One of the main events during the 140th Anniversary celebrations on the Volk’s Electric Railway was a procession of all the operational cars in the fleet – and one which hasn’t run for several decades but is hopefully on the road to return. That was ex-Southend car 9 which was purchased for use on the line in the 1950s (along with another car) but was sidelined from the 1990s. Being hauled by a small diesel locomotive we see 9 passing assesmbled guests during the Procession. (Photograph by Tony Sullivan)
