The Number 20: Zurich tram route 20

It’s a bit different for this last part of the current series of “The Number 20” as its not the tram which has a connection to the number 20 but the route on which its running!

Tram system: Zurich

Route: 20 – Bhf Alstetten to Bhf Killwangen-Spreitenbach

Started running: 11th December 2022

Route 20 in Zurich was, at the time of this photo, the newest route in Europe numbered 20. Running between Bhf Alstetten to Bhf Killwangen-Spreitenbach it is served by double ended trams with Stadler Citylink vehicles in use. This photo shows 8003 at the Barnhof Alstetten terminus of the route with it carrying an advert for a shopping centre. (Photograph by Ian Ring, 28th December 2022)

  1. M. R. Taplin says:

To be pedantic, line 20 is not VB Zürich, but Aargau-Verkehr, which also runs the linking metre-gauge light railway at Dietikon.
