We are off to Crich for this next instalment of “The Number 20” and there are a couple of trams which are included from the same system side-by-side.
Trams: Blackpool & Fleetwood Rack 2 and Box 40
Built 1898 / 1914
Qualification for series: 40 / 2 = 20
This is 27th July 2014 and during Box 40’s “loan” from Blackpool back to its actual home tramway we are at Town End where we see the Box Car on test approaching the end of the line. Alongside is Rack 2 which was in service on this day. Both these trams now reside permanently at Crich although 2 is now withdrawn with 40 having last run earlier in 2022.
During the main Electric 50 events the two Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad cars were lined up together outside the depot for a special photo opportunity. This is said opportunity on 13th September 2014. (Both Photographs by Hazel Quarmby)
