Tramlink pay deal accepted

The pay dispute on London Tramlink has come to an end after members of ASLEF voted to accept the offer made last month. The ballot of members had a 76% turnout with 85% of those responding in favour of the deal.

The dispute over pay has been going on for most of the year with the previous deal having expired last year. With initially no offer of a rise being made to drivers on the network, negotiations had been taking place for many months but with no agreement having been made there have been several periods of strike action in June, July and October.

The latest offer made to drivers – and that which has now been agreed – is:

  • 4.5% from November 2021
  • 4.75% from November 2022
  • 4.75% from November 2023

The ballot was sent to 144 members with 110 returned. Of these 94 accepted the deal and 16 rejected the proposal.

With members now having agreed the pay deal – which came after a recommendation to do so from the union – no further strike action over this issue will be taking place.
