In Pictures: Trams back to full fleet livery in Manchester

December has seen a number of trams on Manchester Metrolink return to full fleet livery as their previous adverts have been removed. This has included the trio of trams which were carrying adverts for the #GetOnBoard campaign as well as 3064 in its USDAW advert.

The four trams which are now back in fleet livery are 3059 (#GetOnBoard), 3061 (#GetOnBoard), 3064 (USDAW) and 3081 (#GetOnBoard).

The three which carried the adverts for the TfGM #GetOnBoard campaign had only been carrying these vinyls since October whilst 3064 is a much longer-term livery with the USDAW vinyls having been applied back in August 2021.

Also recently has seen 3019 return to service after having been out of use with a fault. Two further long-term absentees – 3005 and 3083 – are also believed to be closing in on a return over the next few months.

3059 back in its fleet livery is seen at St Peter’s Square. Its only working as far as Timperley because of Network Rail strikes.

3064 is seen at MediaCityUK when working as part of a double unit with a service to Ashton. This tram has now lost its USDAW ads.

3061 is also back in fleet livery and is caught on camera here at Deansgate-Castlefield.

And 3019 has returned to service recently after repairs. We see it here on Mosley Street as it leads a double unit towards Piccadilly. (All Photographs by Michael Morton, 14th December 2022)
