In Pictures: Snow and manual points change in Sheffield

Similar to other parts of the country, mid-December saw snow fall in Sheffield which again provided opportunities to see trams running through snow. Not necessarily linked to the snow there was also an issue with the points at the Park Square delta junction just outside the city centre which meant that the driver had to use a manual points bar to change the points. Photos from Stuart Cooke.

Taken from on board 399 204 this view shows the driver using the points bar in order to change the points and gain the line to Hyde Park and then on to Rotherham Parkgate with a Tram-Train service. The Citylink vehicle have no can door so the driver has to go through the passenger saloon and use the passenger door in order to get out to change the points.

399 204 has now made its way to Rotherham Central and is just departing bound for Rotherham Parkgate. Snow and lots of footprints remain on the platform. (Both Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 11th December 2022)
