15 Years Apart: Blackpool Brush 631

Its another trip to Blackpool (sorry – but when you’re comparing trams and looking for differences Blackpool gives us the most options!)  for “15 Years Apart” today and this time we take a look at Brush Car 631.

2007 saw 631 receive a new all over advert (and an advert which would last for five years – although that’s still not its longest lived ad!) when it received a bright red design for Walls Ice Cream. With fairly extensive use of contravision the advert promoted a number of different Walls products include Cornetto, Magnum and Solero. We see the tram standing on Bold Street, Fleetwood having just terminated, judging by is position there are other trams up ahead. The date was 4th September 2007.

Since the adverts for Walls were removed 631 has been running in green and cream with this hybrid level being applied during 2021 – and at the same time it received the name REGINALD DIXON M.B.E. The tram is approaching North Pier on 25th September 2022. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
