Edinburgh Trams pay tribute to armed services

Trams in Edinburgh are once again carrying poppies in their windows as Edinburgh Trams pay their respects ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 13th November. In addition armed services veterans and serving members of the Army, Air Force and Navy are being offered free travel to get to Remembrance events taking place in the city.

Anyone wearing their military uniform or who shows their military ID will be able to travel for free on the trams on both 11th and 13th November (Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday respectively).

Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams, said: “We’re extremely fortunate to have many ex-military personnel in our organisation, and Edinburgh also has very strong links with the services. So, we wanted to show our gratitude to all who have served their country with such commitment and bravery.”

Tram services will also pause for two minutes at 1100 on both days to observe the two-minute silence.
