Around the World in Trams: Basel 202

“Around the World in Trams” is heading back to the Lucerne Transport Museum for one last time today.

The final tram we take a look at is Basel 202. Built in 1931 for Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe this is a SIG/BBC Ce 2/2 which remained in service on its home system until June 1983. As with many of the other trams we have seen over the past few weeks this led to it being sent to the Lucerne Transport Museum for display and it is still there to this day. This image shows it on 14th August 2009, boxed in by Zurich 32.
